Using Jungian theory, I seek the hidden and unconscious negative messages that loom in the background of the human psyche. Innately, we strive to feel good emotions while resisting the difficult ones. It is my perspective that emotions such as sadness, anger, regret, guilt, ect…, offer insight into an unknown world that speaks a very important message of hope and wisdom. When a person experiences trauma, it can exasperate these negative emotions. The conscious mind desires a sense of contentment to thrive and grow, so it must try to find solutions to these feelings. The chances of finding solutions for an uninjured mind, can feel trying and difficult, yet given the right tools and support, the conscious mind grows and evolves with each struggle. Although for a mind injured by trauma, it is nearly impossible to find solutions and balance, when the injury directly affects the conscious mind that can no longer have control over emotional triggers and reactions. Life ends up being chaotic and filled with daily drama that often ends in defeat. With each defeat, the unconscious validates the negative critic, leading to further emotional de-regulation. I am a professional trauma therapist, and it is my passion to work with individuals that have suffered developmental, complex, or a one-time trauma to find their path to healing. This journey is unique to each Individual It would be my honor to join arm in arm with you to unveil the layers of coping mechanism and fragmented selves created by trauma so you can begin a new journey into a whole core self that experiences a healthy and well-balanced life.

Mountain Rose Counseling

I have worked in the Mental Health industry for over 22 years.  I am a trauma-informed psychotherapist. I have trained and certified in, Eye Movement Reprocessing Desensitization(EMDR) and Somatic EMDR. Our bodies, psyche, mind and emotional processes are all connected. When one part is injured, it will affect the other aspects of the human being. PTSD is the effect of a traumatic injury that the mind has experienced. The mind inherently wants to heal, yet it must be guided by a professional to help reprocess the trauma memory or memories so they can be stored in the healthy part of our brain. Once the memory is reprocessed, slowly the emotional reactions will no longer be automatically stimulated, leaving you with a sense of inner control, where life can make sense, be logical and you can emotionally and mentally find solutions to life hardships. When we are victorious over struggles, we begin to live life from contentment, which offers the potential to thrive versus survive.

By combining both techniques I am able to help you find your way to a healing process.  My goal and mission are to create a safe and compassionate environment while offering my clients the opportunity to live life to your highest and greatest potential.
